A valid study design is tailored to the study’s goals and prevents bias, so as to allow for valid and meaningful conclusions to be drawn. This second webinar in the 12-part series will review the two major categories of biomedical research, Observational and Experimental, and the subtypes of each. Appropriate use, advantages, and disadvantages of each type will be discussed in the context of the Hierarchy of Evidence in Evidence-Based Medicine. The content of this webinar will not only assist the researcher but will educate the reader of ophthalmic literature in interpreting study results in light of methodology strengths and flaws.
